Bronze at World University Championships
Liv-Grete Liwowski paddles her way onto the podium

Success at the World University Championships in Canoe Sports: UDE-Student Liv-Grete Liwowski has won a bronze medal in Szeged, Hungary. Together with Moritz Schneider from Leipzig University, she finished third in the K1 mixed 5,000-metre relay.
Liv-Grete Liwowski narrowly missed out on the podium in two other races: She finished fourth in the K1 500 metres and also took fourth place in the K2 500 metres with Lene Pausch (Leipzig University). The pair also finished seventh in the K2 200 metres.
The 21-year-old is studying to become a primary school teacher at UDE. The World University Canoe Sprint Championships took place from 17 to 20 August. A total of seven athletes represented the German team, winning two bronze medals.
